CIBSE Journal Report

Recently, first tier Consulting Engineers 'Hoare Lea' have launched their HVAC Performance Assessment Tool for 'Whole Life Carbon' featured in the CIBSE Journal. The article shows the significant advantages of using Chilled Beam systems compared to other HVAC systems and how this technology can help significantly reduce a buildings carbon footprint. The early-stage selection tool, which calculates the whole life carbon (WLC) for HVAC systems, has provided new data specifically with regards to embodied carbon, which shows the significant advantages for buildings using Active Chilled Beam (ACB) units alongside Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) as opposed to other HVAC systems.

Chilled Beams provide a long-life, minimal maintenance HVAC solution, which can be used for a range of industry applications. Due to the products containing no moving parts, product life expectancy can be well in excess of 25 years, continuing to provide high levels of thermal performance associated with all Frenger’s HVAC products.
